Primary Zone
We, at the Primary Section of Prayaas international School, facilitate a deep-rooted love of learning among our young learners. We strive to support all learner to enable them to reach their full potential socially and academically. Throughout the year, students are provided with ‘opportunities those empower them to be creative, confident and help them to hone their skills. Reading is considered as a prerequisite for all activities. To instil the habit of extensive reading an elaborate reading programme for classes 1 to 5 was undertaken. It encouraged children to read books of various genres and helped them develop a love of reading. They were initiated to the structured post-reading activities like a book review, chart-making, poster making, writing character sketches, dramatization and collage making, which enhanced their language skills. Our school morning assemblies provide a platform for students to showcase their talent and build up their self-confidence. Theme based assemblies were presented by the students under the guidance of their class teachers. Special Assemblies were conducted throughout the year on various occasions such as Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Diwali, Christmas and Republic Day. Apart from academics, a range of co-curricular activities was also organized regularly. The Intra-Class and Inter House ‘Competitions were held on a regular basis, which provided copious opportunities for students to foster their skills. With the objective to maximise learning opportunities beyond the books, field trips and Excursions were organised throughout the year to different places such as Post Office, Farm, Studio, Bakery Gurudwara etc. These regular field trips enhanced their learning experience and observation skills.
The month of July witnessed the felicitation ceremony. It was a moment of pride for young students.
To develop care and respect for our environment in context of social, moral and multi-cultural awareness a Poster Making Activity was organised. It provided the students with ample opportunities to showcase their creativity and talent.
Sports play a vital role in developing a healthy and strong mind. The much awaited sports events for Grade I-V were held in the annual sports meet 2022. Students participated in races and other activities with zeal and expectations. They won numerious Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals. They went home with Jingling sounds of medals.
Middle Zone
‘At Prayaas, education in middle school is a dynamic process. It is an aim which creates high standards of learning experience for the children by providing access to overall development and creating a lively and stimulating learning environment that is exciting today, as well as preparation for the future.
In middle school, we ensure the holistic development of students by providing opportunities for enriched learning experiences beyond the curriculum and developing the skills of decision ‘making in students. We promote acceptance and respect for all and enhance enjoyment in learning. This is the stage where we identify individual talents and develop them.
At this stage, each student is motivated to reach their full potential by fostering self esteem and a sense of achievement. The development of skills and attitude is encouraged to promote lifelong learning and foster an awareness of acceptable standards of work, attitude and behaviour, both in and out of the school.
The school always strives to nurture good values in students and make them more responsible citizens of India. The students are brimmed with enthusiasm to serve their nation in an innovative way during the “Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra” Campaign. Apart from this, the students were taken to the various picnics and excursion to let them experience the life and face the outside world.
In order to nurture affinity for nature the middle school students were taken for the Field Trips. Along with these outdoor trips school also keeps organising many inter house competitions which develop sportsmanship, the spirit of healthy competition, boost their confidence and prepare them to compete in various inter school competitions.
